Thank you for taking an interest in my Theory of Absolutes Blog. I am so glad that you’re here and look forward to reading your contributions to the conversation.
I have spent a lifetime considering these concepts. The content I have created is meant to empower and inform Christians and non-Christians about the evidence that God is Real. This site is for you, whether you’re a new believer, a person mature in the faith, hold sincerely to another faith, or have doubts, skepticism, and disbelief about the premises, accuracy, consistency with science, or philosophical implications. Whatever your perspective, if you are a thinker, a seeker of truth, a person with an open mind, welcome, this is the site for you. No belief is too heretical, and no doubt is off limits. No belief or too blasphemous, that it cannot be sincerely expressed as a question or a call for help to understand. Hearty, sincere discourse is welcome.
The purpose of the site is to allow each soul to personally/internally/deeply develop a fully grounded understanding of the Christian worldview and thereby come to a saving/transforming/cleansing faith in Christ. This is a site about ideas, not about personalities. Thus, ad hominem attacks and rude language will not be posted. Comments that violate these standards will be filtered and rewritten to comply with this boundary condition. For example, it is appropriate to say, “xyz behavior is bad, because of abc principle.” Or, “Church/cult/preacher, xyz believes that doctrine abc, but it is unbiblical, wrong, unethical, harmful… because of jkl principles.”
Please direct your commentary toward manifesting that goal. Does the discussion move us toward a plan, way of being, that moves the body of Christ toward that goal? If so, then bring you the most relevant content we’re capable of producing. And because we value your input, feedback, and perspective we’ve made the decision to maintain an active comment section for 60 days after each post is published.
The comment section on our blog or various social media channels is a place for thoughtful discussion. Before you make your contribution to that discussion, please be sure you have carefully read and understood our comment policy.
Policy
The Golden Standard – Our top criteria for an approved comment is one that adds value. There are several ways to add value to a conversation: asking a relevant question, answering a question, providing expanded insight, or explaining a thoughtful counter-point in a respectful way—to name just a few.
Civility is not optional – The Theory of Absolutes blog and social channels are meant to be places of empowerment, thoughtful discussion, encouragement, and learning.
You are welcome to disagree with the authors or other commenters, but the tone of those discussions must remain civil or those comments will be rewritten.
We will not tolerate personal attacks, rude language.
All rights reserved – We reserve the right to edit, delete, move, or mark as spam any comment we choose. We also reserve the right to block any IP address that violates this comment policy from commenting, subscribing, or accessing the Theory of Absolutes blog or social content.
Liability – When posting a comment on our blog or social channels you take full responsibility for it. You agree to hold Theory of Absolutes, all post authors, and other commenters harmless.
Comments are not the place for asking personal, specific medical, psychological, or legal questions. These questions may be asked, but only in the abstract. Likewise, the answers should not be taken as specific advice in any situation. If you have questions of a specific nature that require action, please seek a professional. The purpose of this blog is to provide general philosophical perspectives. Of course, philosophy is useless if it is not applied in reality, but since the authors are not there to respond to the complexity of details, history, personality, and ethical, cultural circumstances, it will be necessary for you, and those you can surround yourself with locally, to make decisions that affect your welfare. Decisions are difficult because we want to optimize the upside and minimize the downside in all circumstances, and the weighing can only be done by a combination of affective and cognitive processing against a standard of truth/value. This blog is meant to provide many examples, in many different realms of life, so as to help learn the principles of the overarching paradigm that we are attempting to model and embed in our souls as we mature in the Way of Christ.
In short, this is not a counseling or medical blog that can answer your urgent or chronic health, relationship, financial, or legal issues. The only service this blog provides is an attempted interpretation of the spirit of the Bible as it may apply to various aspects. of life.
Valid Questions – If you have a general question, directly relevant to an article or piece of content we’ve posted, then by all means ask. If, on the other hand, your question is specific to your own life, and you need to have a solution to avoid some type of severe personal, family, group, or community consequence, this site cannot provide that support. But, having said that, please share your issues, the tough situations of life, and let us, and the rest of the Theory of Absolutes blogging community attempt to give another perspective to consider in your calculation of your specific action.
Name Use – All comments must be posted under your real name or nick name. If you use a company name, alias, or keyword stuffed phrase your comment will rewritten or otherwise edited to comply with the community standards.
Valid Email Required – The email address you use to submit your comment must be valid. We respect your privacy and will not share this information with third parties or publish your email address to the blog. When this blog is live and ready for participation, you will be required to login and provide your name, pen-name, and email address and confirm your email address before you can comment. If you log in, you will be put on the mailing list if you choose to receive notification of new posts to the site. You may choose to remove yourself from the email list at any time.
Proper Linking Practices – You are welcome to put a non-trackable, un-masked link to your website’s home page in the “website” field of our comments section.
This is not a commercial site, and obvious attempts to use it for marketing will be deleted or edited.
You may place links to products, resources, or other sites in the comment body for the purpose of providing resources that help solve or enlighten about the problem being discussed.
Sharing resources the right way – Occasionally, the best way to add value to a conversation is to share a tool or resource with the community that they may not know about.
Check your conscious. Jusc ask if the motivations for sharing these tools and resources are for the benefit of the community versus self-promotion.
Name the tool or resource (as well as who created it) so that it is easy for others to search for. If you are the creator of a tool or resource you’d like to recommend, make sure that connection is understood by providing full disclosure upfront.
Gravatar – If you would like your photo to appear next to your comment, you’ll need to create a Gravatar account and use that email address when leaving comments on our blog. This process is simple and takes 1-2 minutes, max.
Language – We create and publish content in English. We’re thrilled if you are a non-English communicator who can understand and gain value from our content. However, we are not equipped for comment moderation in multiple languages so please leave your comments in English. Any comment our moderators are unable to understand will be deleted. This includes comments written in English with especially poor spelling and grammar.
Spam – Don’t do it.
FAQ
Why isn’t my comment showing up?
If you’ve followed the above policy and your comment still is not showing up, we ask that you simply be patient. Most likely your comment hasn’t shown up yet because a moderator hasn’t had a chance to read it and mark it approved.
How do I get support for my problem?
This is not a problem-solving site. You are welcome to send an email to the webmaster regarding issues such as spelling and grammar errors in any post, page or comment. We are very particular about such details and appreciate any feedback about errors of fact or style.
If you have a specific problem, you can leave your email address, and someone else with experience in the area of your issue may be able to give you advice. But, realize all such advice is purely non-professional, and freely/without coercion, taking anyone’s advice about anything does not relieve you of the responsibility of making your own decision, and taking the consequences for that decision. Such accountability is at the heart of adulthood. The Theory of Absolutes site takes no responsibility for any comments, inter-personal communication within the community has already experienced that same issue and a solution has already been provided.
If you ask for help in solving a problem, do not expect that anyone at this site, or any of its readers will comment in a timely manner, or in an accurate manner that will solve your problem. Again this is a philosophy site. You must apply the general principles of messages to your own life and its circumstances.
