Inventing brings new concepts/theories/postulates, objects, processes, and technologies into physical manifestation. Invention may involve utilizing new theories to produce new functions (e.g., the theory of Low Energy Nuclear Reactions to power homes). The process of invention is implementing theory in technology. The invention process involves transforming an old way of thinking (how I usually do something) into a new process. Thus, the process of invention is a new way of thinking. The invention method is front to back or back to front – start with a commonly done thing, and ask how it could be done differently. Or combine a technology, discovery, or tool with various possible applications where these capabilities can be applied. Inventing combines two things of different types, e.g., a tool with a situation; or a process with a theory involving an aspect of that process.
