Calling the Church to Vote Against Evil

When churches ignore politics and then point out how ugly and disappointing it all is, it may influence Christians not to vote. This is not good considering that we are on the verge of losing the soul of our country and allowing evil to accelerate at a faster pace than it already has.

40 million Christian registered voters do not vote. 15 million more are unregistered. If they voted, it would prevent (or at a minimum, slow down) the growth rate of Satan’s plans to destroy this country.

These Christians typically will not vote because the best candidate is still too flawed, or they don’t like their personality, or don’t think they need to, or think it wouldn’t make any difference and aren’t really encouraged by the mainstream church to do so. In the OT, all the kings were flawed and imperfect. God chose those kings. And here we are now in a country where we can have a say as to which person will be our leader, yet 55 million Christians will do nothing to steer this country back on course.

Since the American church typically avoids talking about anything controversial or political, the church people are at the mercy of getting their information from what they hear from the mainstream news media all the time.

So where are Christians getting their news and information from? Today, nearly everything in the mainstream news media is leftist radical ideas that are anti-Christian and anti-Semitic.

People in general are either being brainwashed or influenced by the mainstream news media. Here are two examples.

1) People think we are a democracy. We are not. We are a republic with a democratic form of government that follows a constitution based on biblical Judeo-Christian principles. A pure democracy has never worked since the people directly rule and have nothing to restrain them from doing whatever they want regardless of others.

2) People think that the “Separation of church and state” is a law. It is not. But because many people believe this, it causes a divide that was not meant to be. The intent of the Founding Fathers was to allow Christians to influence government, not the other way around. Now that Christians have avoided politics and government since the early 1960s, we are paying the price. Now the government is trying to replace God and tell the church what they can and cannot do. The IRS 501(c)(3) is an example of this. If a church promotes one candidate but not the other, they can lose their tax-exempt status. https://www.churchlawcenter.com/church-law/political-activities-by-churches-whats-permitted-and-whats-prohibited/

When it’s said that church and politics don’t mix, that’s incorrect. They do mix and should be talked about. Pastors across this country should regularly speak about the current issues of the day through the lens of the Bible so that Christians can be equipped to know how to handle daily life and make informed decisions. Otherwise, the people get disconnected, since the church never deals with what’s going on outside of the church building. Going to church on Sunday and living life Monday through Saturday gets to be a bit confusing and feels like living two different lives. Why are there Christians voting for Democrats who support anti-Christian ideas such as pro-choice abortion (now known as “reproductive rights”)? This is obviously something that is evil.  Democrats are for being able to abort the baby all the way up to birth. At least Trump is only willing to allow for up to 15 weeks. It’s not perfect, but it’s better than Kamala’s position.

Why are these Christians not hearing clearly from the Holy Spirit as to whether something is right or wrong? Perhaps they’re not listening to Him. Maybe they don’t know they can ask the Holy Spirit to help them make better decisions. After all the decades that I have attended church, I’ve never heard any message from the pulpit that says such a thing when it comes to voting in an election.

Do church leaders avoid certain subjects because they are afraid that some people may leave the church? For that matter, why is that such a bad thing? People disagreed with Jesus all the time and walked away.  Perhaps it’s assumed that a congregation already knows how to vote or deal with the various evil issues of our day.

Meanwhile, Satan slowly marches forward with educating people on an anti-Christian agenda. Churches sit back while the government grows and becomes more corrupt as each year goes by. Has the government finally gotten big enough to replace God in this country?

Perhaps there’s this thought that if people are just taught more about having a relationship with Jesus and knowing the Bible, that somehow that will make enough difference to cause people to not be deceived by the world system that Satan is promoting. Well, that’s obviously not working out too well.  We are losing the country.  We have already lost the culture war.

So, living the Christian life in a safe bubble at church, yet at the same time ignoring or being indifferent to what’s going on around us, will certainly lead to getting all our little safe places disrupted.  Perhaps this is what is needed at this point, but the cost to people’s lives will be immense.

God has clearly given us this country. Shouldn’t we as Christians do what we can to push back Satan’s agenda?  Christians are supposed to make a difference in a dark world. God has clearly brought forth the United States to further his goodness to others around the world and charged us as free citizens to participate in keeping it from going down a dark path.

History is repeating itself again. In the 1930’s, Germany had about 18,000 Protestant churches. Hitler approached them and told them they would be taken care of and there would not be any reason to worry with where he’s taking the country. 3,000 of them sided with Hitler, 3,000 were against (including Dietrich Bonhoeffer), and 12,000 did nothing and ignored the atrocities happening around them. Today’s 55 million non-voting Christians are reminiscent of the 12,000 who did nothing. As it has been said, “The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing”.

A church doesn’t have to do a whole message about an election, but they can mention something about it and encourage the congregation to get out and vote. There are ways to guide people without telling them who to vote for. The contrast between the 2 political parties has never been more opposite and divided. One side is clearly evil, the other side not so much.

If the 55 million Christians (or even just a few million) would vote, they could change the course of this country before it gets any darker.

Good government cannot save us, but bad government can destroy us.

One thing is for sure, God is watching to see what the American Christians decide this time around.
