Speech – Introductory

Hello, my name is Thomas Abshier. I am a naturopathic physician by profession and I am running for US President in 2024 as a Republican. I will not be on any primary or general election ballots, nor will I be accepting any donations. I am running as a write-in candidate, but I do not want to receive any votes unless you are certain that my victory is realistic and certain. I do not want to take away any votes from a conservative/patriot candidate who could win. So, until you know I will win, do NOT write-in my name on your ballot.

I am running for President to make America Godly. Our nation was founded on Biblical principles to guide our culture and government in Godliness. The Bible reveals God’s character and His desire for our individual and collective actions. We are His creatures, living inside His creation, and we have free will. We can and should choose to please God by using His law as our primary standard when crafting legislation, judging justice, and administering laws.

As a nation, we have gone far afield of God’s principles of conduct in our culture, laws, justice, and enforcement, and we must return to righteousness. Unless we repent, we will experience disaster, destruction, and infamy due to our transgression of God’s law and way. We must return to personal and corporate/national/group holiness.

As Individuals, we live holy when we 1) obey God’s law (and in doing so, act out our love of Him) and 2) when we love our neighbor as much as ourselves. We can interpret the standard from the Bible’s words. Restoration of full fellowship and communion with God involves accepting the salvation offered by Jesus’ substitutionary death.

Corporate holiness includes sanctifying a complex of individual and group behaviors and standards that compose the culture. Government is only one of the participants, but it has a major effect on a nation’s economy and moral tone because government wields enforcement power. Thus, the moral bias/standard of government must be Godly.

Each man must stand before God alone. We are all responsible for choosing our moral standard. If we believe our standard is true/right/good and best, we must share that light and lobby/teach/persuade our neighbor to hold the same standard of righteousness. When we all are doing the best to live to the highest standard, and we are all coaching each other on what the highest standard is, our group behavior should rise toward God’s standard of  goodness. When individuals are all acting the best possible way, this high standard will be reflected in the society’s group entities, such as cities, states, nations, NGO’s, corporations, and governments.
